January 26, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5528 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2539 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3436 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Microvision Inc. (NASDAQ:MVIS), ChinaNet Online Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:CNET), Avinger Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGR), GulfMark Offshore Inc. (NYSE:GLF), Sigma Labs Inc. (OTC:SGLB), Monster Digital Inc. (NASDAQ:MSDI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MVIS $0.270 0.21% 648,031 44.76% 614,112 42.42% 33,919 1,256
  CNET $0.230 0.21% 137,682 47.60% 108,649 37.57% 29,033 1,262
  AVGR $0.850 0.37% 3,494,863 35.31% 3,210,724 32.44% 284,139 3,343
  GLF $0.650 0.45% 953,922 46.90% 707,449 34.78% 246,473 3,792
  SGLB $1.200 0.55% 91,461 59.16% 53,501 34.61% 37,960 316
  MSDI $0.530 0.33% 1,034,013 38.00% 1,027,013 37.74% 7,000 132
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MVIS with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.27000 and a Friction Factor of 1,256 shares. That means that it only took 1,256 more shares of buying than selling to move MVIS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
