January 25, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5228 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4328 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2065 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA), Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK), Kinder Morgan Inc. (NYSE:KMI), Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), iSh Brc US TrBd Shs (NYSE:GOVT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CMCSA $-0.160 -0.00% 5,537,265 42.03% 3,702,748 28.10% 1,834,517 Abnormal
  NOK $-0.050 -0.01% 7,801,073 44.75% 5,297,149 30.38% 2,503,924 Abnormal
  KMI $-0.020 -0.00% 7,114,046 36.41% 5,851,245 29.95% 1,262,801 Abnormal
  AMD $-0.110 -0.01% 23,317,614 37.76% 22,007,228 35.64% 1,310,386 Abnormal
  GDX $-0.360 -0.02% 24,439,938 36.06% 16,891,719 24.93% 7,548,219 Abnormal
  GOVT $-0.070 -0.00% 7,428,274 95.16% 292,272 3.74% 7,136,002 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CMCSA with 1,834,517 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.16000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
