January 23, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5592 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3094 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3008 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iSh 20+Y Trs Bd Shs (NASDAQ:TLT), The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), iShs Core EM Shs (NYSE:IEMG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  TLT $1.200 0.01% 3,042,150 23.71% 5,789,633 45.13% -2,747,483 Abnormal
  KO $0.050 0.00% 2,949,095 25.40% 4,317,722 37.18% -1,368,627 Abnormal
  CSCO $0.080 0.00% 5,321,830 31.47% 6,897,658 40.79% -1,575,828 Abnormal
  YHOO $0.500 0.01% 3,458,941 26.46% 7,467,505 57.12% -4,008,564 Abnormal
  MSFT $0.260 0.00% 5,675,024 25.68% 9,212,711 41.68% -3,537,687 Abnormal
  IEMG $0.650 0.02% 6,046,669 31.95% 9,801,333 51.79% -3,754,664 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TLT with 2,747,483 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $1.20000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
