January 19, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5371 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1954 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4055 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Thursday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY), J.C. Penney Company Inc. (NYSE:JCP), DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ:DRYS), iShs Core EM Shs (NYSE:IEMG), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:JNUG), Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (PINK:RJETQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SPY $-0.640 -0.00% 14,232,477 22.30% 17,217,396 26.98% -2,984,919 -46,639
  JCP $-0.120 -0.02% 8,118,899 32.92% 11,113,944 45.07% -2,995,045 -249,587
  DRYS $-0.590 -0.37% 26,640,634 36.37% 32,438,486 44.28% -5,797,852 -98,269
  IEMG $-0.180 -0.00% 2,862,283 26.95% 5,236,500 49.31% -2,374,217 -131,901
  JNUG $-0.050 -0.01% 24,989,745 37.23% 28,398,471 42.31% -3,408,726 -681,745
  RJETQ $-0.129 -0.22% 2,045,988 32.15% 4,204,754 66.08% -2,158,766 -167,346
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SPY down $-0.64000 with a Friction Factor of -46,639 and a Net Volume of -2,984,919. That means that it takes 46,639 more shares of selling than buying to drop SPY by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
