January 17, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5368 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2706 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3705 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Energy Transfer Equity L.P. (NYSE:ETE), Ambev S.A. (NYSE:ABEV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PFE $-0.460 -0.01% 12,340,234 38.58% 9,684,149 30.27% 2,656,085 Abnormal
  WFC $-1.520 -0.03% 9,894,742 36.82% 7,306,458 27.19% 2,588,284 Abnormal
  MSFT $-0.150 -0.00% 9,840,644 47.72% 4,752,497 23.04% 5,088,147 Abnormal
  F $-0.020 -0.00% 23,907,685 48.79% 14,102,674 28.78% 9,805,011 Abnormal
  ETE $-0.190 -0.01% 3,816,591 59.75% 1,490,766 23.34% 2,325,825 Abnormal
  ABEV $-0.020 -0.01% 7,292,375 41.62% 4,642,585 26.50% 2,649,790 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with 2,656,085 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.46000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
