Market Maker Surveillance Report. RAD, MRK, HYG, GWL, NLSN, ABEV, Bullishly Biased Price Friction For Thursday, January 12th 2
January 12, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5383 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2496 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3530 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Rite Aid Corp (NYSE:RAD), Merck & Co Inc. (NYSE:MRK), iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond Fund (NYSE:HYG), SPDR S&P World ex-US ETF (NYSE:GWL), Nielsen Holdings PLC (NYSE:NLSN), Ambev S.A. (NYSE:ABEV). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction RAD $0.110 0.01% 9,019,679 35.48% 10,874,834 42.78% -1,855,155 Abnormal MRK $0.570 0.01% 6,717,061 27.07% 9,886,599 39.84% -3,169,538 Abnormal HYG $0.020 0.00% 2,707,144 21.64% 4,255,790 34.03% -1,548,646 Abnormal GWL $0.060 0.00% 1,483,339 21.87% 3,745,039 55.21% -2,261,700 Abnormal NLSN $0.410 0.01% 1,748,487 27.82% 3,483,041 55.42% -1,734,554 Abnormal ABEV $0.100 0.02% 6,881,470 28.36% 9,540,800 39.32% -2,659,330 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows RAD with 1,855,155 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.11000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
