January 11, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5430 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3658 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2375 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC), Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), GIGGLES N' HUGS Inc. (OTC:GIGL), iShs Glbl REIT Shs iShares Global REIT ETF (NYSE:REET), American Realty Capital Properties Inc. (NYSE:VER). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  WFC $-0.270 -0.01% 7,151,975 34.48% 5,737,662 27.66% 1,414,313 Abnormal
  CSCO $-0.170 -0.01% 9,059,167 41.44% 6,517,516 29.81% 2,541,651 Abnormal
  GDX $-0.020 -0.00% 24,265,110 32.25% 21,441,240 28.50% 2,823,870 Abnormal
  GIGL $-0.013 -0.48% 8,098,613 48.72% 6,524,260 39.25% 1,574,353 Abnormal
  REET $-0.150 -0.01% 2,390,918 92.94% 106,497 4.14% 2,284,421 Abnormal
  VER $-0.090 -0.01% 3,425,062 46.08% 1,679,765 22.60% 1,745,297 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows WFC with 1,414,313 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.27000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
