January 9, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5540 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2606 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3573 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Buscar Co (OTC:CGLD), Stage Stores Inc. (NYSE:SSI), Acuity Brands Inc. (Holding Company) (NYSE:AYI), Destination XL Group Inc. (NASDAQ:DXLG), NutraFuels Inc. (PINK:NTFU), WEED Inc. (PINK:BUDZ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CGLD $-0.800 -0.34% 33,225 9.45% 188,673 53.67% -155,448 -1,943
  SSI $-0.690 -0.17% 1,317,016 32.80% 1,504,056 37.46% -187,040 -2,711
  AYI $-34.850 -0.15% 1,427,704 30.64% 1,501,764 32.23% -74,060 -21
  DXLG $-0.550 -0.15% 133,697 30.23% 173,886 39.32% -40,189 -731
  NTFU $-0.600 -0.29% 476,583 41.98% 568,543 50.08% -91,960 -1,533
  BUDZ $-1.155 -0.28% 91,757 35.36% 131,662 50.74% -39,905 -345
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CGLD with a dollar loss Monday of $-0.80000 and a Friction Factor of -1,943 shares. That means that it only took 1,943 more shares of selling than buying to move CGLD lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
