January 5, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5487 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3286 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2825 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Calpine Corporation (NYSE:CPN), General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF), Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. (NYSE:HLX). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CPN $-0.040 -0.00% 3,408,432 48.42% 1,254,854 17.82% 2,153,578 Abnormal
  GE $-0.180 -0.01% 9,290,879 34.73% 7,633,749 28.54% 1,657,130 Abnormal
  INTC $-0.060 -0.00% 5,517,252 39.94% 3,753,041 27.17% 1,764,211 Abnormal
  F $-0.400 -0.03% 27,099,155 33.77% 23,446,038 29.22% 3,653,117 Abnormal
  RF $-0.190 -0.01% 5,103,921 38.90% 3,446,087 26.26% 1,657,834 Abnormal
  HLX $-0.390 -0.04% 11,974,640 38.79% 9,770,133 31.65% 2,204,507 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CPN with 2,153,578 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.04000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
