Market Maker Surveillance Report. ZEUS, MOV, LEDS, NSPR, CDNA, OCX, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, Nov
November 23, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5392 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3781 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2481 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Olympic Steel, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZEUS), Movado Group Inc. (NYSE:MOV), SemiLEDs Corporation (NASDAQ:LEDS), InspireMD Inc. (NYSE:NSPR), CareDx (NASDAQ:CDNA), OncoCyte Corp (NYSE:OCX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction ZEUS $3.620 0.16% 109,652 35.46% 105,323 34.06% 4,329 12 MOV $3.750 0.15% 175,392 34.38% 160,528 31.47% 14,864 40 LEDS $1.260 0.34% 262,963 40.32% 224,873 34.48% 38,090 302 NSPR $0.540 0.20% 262,771 40.74% 249,652 38.71% 13,119 243 CDNA $0.650 0.22% 73,653 37.56% 30,575 15.59% 43,078 663 OCX $0.950 0.19% 51,423 43.66% 30,442 25.85% 20,981 221Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows ZEUS with a dollar gain Tuesday of $3.62000 and a Friction Factor of 12 shares. That means that it only took 12 more shares of buying than selling to move ZEUS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
