November 17, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5410 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3485 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2662 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT), Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), AstraZeneca Group plc (NYSE:AZN), Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT), DDR Corp. (NYSE:DDR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  WMT $-2.210 -0.03% 8,083,955 35.12% 6,883,913 29.90% 1,200,042 Abnormal
  PFE $-0.270 -0.01% 9,097,552 35.16% 7,669,659 29.64% 1,427,893 Abnormal
  AZN $-0.050 -0.00% 2,892,015 36.70% 1,664,786 21.13% 1,227,229 Abnormal
  CSCO $-1.580 -0.05% 26,918,198 36.14% 24,244,748 32.55% 2,673,450 Abnormal
  WFT $-0.190 -0.04% 10,827,054 37.54% 8,664,820 30.04% 2,162,234 Abnormal
  DDR $-0.340 -0.02% 4,030,288 54.36% 1,430,879 19.30% 2,599,409 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows WMT with 1,200,042 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-2.21000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
