November 9, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5238 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3857 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2612 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Corrections Corporation of America (NYSE:CXW), Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT), Sucampo Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:SCMP), Signal Genetics Inc. (NASDAQ:SGNL), Eleven Biotherapeutics (NASDAQ:EBIO), Peabody Energy Corp (PINK:BTUUQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CXW $6.120 0.43% 8,334,077 36.36% 7,632,292 33.30% 701,785 1,147
  WFT $1.200 0.32% 17,499,357 33.41% 14,461,648 27.61% 3,037,709 25,314
  SCMP $3.750 0.33% 481,460 34.00% 351,664 24.83% 129,796 346
  SGNL $1.770 0.59% 63,664 45.15% 46,295 32.83% 17,369 98
  EBIO $0.530 0.32% 1,573,905 43.81% 1,394,344 38.81% 179,561 3,388
  BTUUQ $3.990 0.47% 921,665 44.79% 793,789 38.58% 127,876 320
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CXW with a dollar gain Wednesday of $6.12000 and a Friction Factor of 1,147 shares. That means that it only took 1,147 more shares of buying than selling to move CXW higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
