November 8, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5396 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3579 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2383 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (NYSE:VRX), ProShares UltraShort S&P500 (NYSE:SDS), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), United States Natural Gas Fund LP (NYSE:UNG), SPDR Series Trust (NYSE:SCPB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PFE $-0.380 -0.01% 10,047,919 28.66% 14,118,529 40.27% -4,070,610 -107,121
  VRX $-4.170 -0.22% 36,242,024 37.75% 38,222,931 39.81% -1,980,907 -4,750
  SDS $-0.150 -0.01% 5,616,129 33.57% 7,311,109 43.70% -1,694,980 -112,999
  GDX $-0.130 -0.01% 15,978,857 25.94% 18,877,456 30.64% -2,898,599 -222,969
  UNG $-0.570 -0.08% 4,473,107 32.33% 6,136,074 44.34% -1,662,967 -29,175
  SCPB $-0.060 -0.00% 385,449 2.92% 9,362,971 70.81% -8,977,522 -1,496,254
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE down $-0.38000 with a Friction Factor of -107,121 and a Net Volume of -4,070,610. That means that it takes 107,121 more shares of selling than buying to drop PFE by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
