November 4, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5541 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2568 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3269 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLY), Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ:SYMC), Noble Corporation PLC (NYSE:NE), iShares MSCI Japan Index Fund (NYSE:EWJ), iShs Core EM Shs (NYSE:IEMG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $-0.080 -0.00% 22,810,338 35.82% 18,769,795 29.48% 4,040,543 Abnormal
  XLY $-0.200 -0.00% 4,250,461 39.50% 1,497,944 13.92% 2,752,517 Abnormal
  SYMC $-1.930 -0.08% 9,241,148 37.77% 6,373,968 26.05% 2,867,180 Abnormal
  NE $-0.340 -0.07% 7,457,136 41.85% 5,259,739 29.52% 2,197,397 Abnormal
  EWJ $-0.140 -0.01% 9,244,823 39.38% 5,895,307 25.11% 3,349,516 Abnormal
  IEMG $-0.430 -0.01% 6,054,807 67.96% 1,590,670 17.85% 4,464,137 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with 4,040,543 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.08000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
