November 1, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5393 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1874 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4158 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Energy Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLE), Brocade Communications Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), PowerShares Exchange-Traded Fund Trust II (NYSE:UVXY), (:YUMC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLE $0.040 0.00% 4,326,541 20.58% 7,002,720 33.30% -2,676,179 Abnormal
  BRCD $0.720 0.07% 11,881,689 33.09% 13,456,098 37.48% -1,574,409 Abnormal
  MSFT $0.010 0.00% 5,692,663 23.40% 8,713,467 35.82% -3,020,804 Abnormal
  GDX $0.630 0.03% 21,495,343 22.99% 36,323,222 38.85% -14,827,879 Abnormal
  UVXY $0.820 0.05% 25,392,263 34.64% 27,352,173 37.31% -1,959,910 Abnormal
  YUMC $1.950 0.08% 9,624,649 11.09% 34,148,310 39.35% -24,523,661 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLE with 2,676,179 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.04000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
