October 31, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5513 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2936 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3126 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Noble Corporation PLC (NYSE:NE), Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), Chemical & Mining Co. of Chile Inc. (NYSE:SQM), CenturyLink Inc (NYSE:CTL), Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PFE $-0.220 -0.01% 13,596,018 37.98% 11,644,446 32.53% 1,951,572 Abnormal
  NE $-0.360 -0.07% 13,916,685 40.72% 11,581,701 33.89% 2,334,984 Abnormal
  XOM $-1.530 -0.02% 7,232,874 43.74% 3,762,402 22.75% 3,470,472 Abnormal
  SQM $-0.440 -0.02% 5,743,221 90.48% 295,243 4.65% 5,447,978 Abnormal
  CTL $-3.810 -0.13% 26,064,772 36.26% 19,078,165 26.54% 6,986,607 Abnormal
  XRX $-0.070 -0.01% 3,887,213 43.27% 2,127,787 23.69% 1,759,426 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Monday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with 1,951,572 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.22000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
