October 27, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5413 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1863 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4111 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Agenus Inc. (NASDAQ:AGEN), CARBO Ceramics Inc. (NYSE:CRR), Stoneridge Inc. (NYSE:SRI), Proteostasis Therapeutics (NASDAQ:PTI), Kraton Performance Polymers Inc. (NYSE:KRA), ReWalk Robotics (NASDAQ:RWLK). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AGEN $-0.920 -0.18% 1,501,449 37.39% 1,591,334 39.63% -89,885 -977
  CRR $-2.610 -0.27% 2,036,081 37.16% 2,040,333 37.23% -4,252 -16
  SRI $-3.950 -0.22% 535,586 33.07% 556,920 34.39% -21,334 -54
  PTI $-4.340 -0.34% 195,224 25.29% 261,944 33.93% -66,720 -154
  KRA $-5.900 -0.19% 883,471 32.96% 936,705 34.94% -53,234 -90
  RWLK $-1.250 -0.28% 732,477 33.36% 827,081 37.67% -94,604 -757
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AGEN with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.92000 and a Friction Factor of -977 shares. That means that it only took 977 more shares of selling than buying to move AGEN lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
