October 25, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5578 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2171 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3718 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE:FCX), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ), KKR & Co. L.P. (NYSE:KKR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  KO $0.130 0.00% 4,323,003 26.29% 6,170,518 37.52% -1,847,515 Abnormal
  PFE $0.080 0.00% 5,204,728 26.94% 7,534,616 39.00% -2,329,888 Abnormal
  FCX $0.320 0.03% 17,935,090 33.29% 20,243,028 37.58% -2,307,938 Abnormal
  GDX $0.630 0.03% 16,468,741 23.93% 37,055,553 53.84% -20,586,812 Abnormal
  GDXJ $1.290 0.03% 4,549,842 29.76% 6,548,919 42.84% -1,999,077 Abnormal
  KKR $0.400 0.03% 1,199,212 16.89% 4,531,741 63.84% -3,332,529 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KO with 1,847,515 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.13000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
