Market Maker Surveillance Report. SGY, MBRX, SKX, CGRW, LEI, MNTR, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Friday, Octobe
October 21, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5649 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2575 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3026 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Stone Energy Corp (NYSE:SGY), Moleculin Biotech Inc. (NASDAQ:MBRX), SKECHERS USA Inc. (NYSE:SKX), CANNAGROW HOLDINGS (OTC:CGRW), Lucas Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LEI), MENTOR CAPITAL INC. (OTC:MNTR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction SGY $-3.490 -0.36% 1,515,529 35.66% 1,607,729 37.82% -92,200 -264 MBRX $-0.900 -0.21% 227,519 32.14% 238,525 33.69% -11,006 -122 SKX $-3.990 -0.17% 7,167,262 29.08% 8,990,454 36.48% -1,823,192 -4,569 CGRW $-0.320 -0.14% 359,893 42.77% 467,827 55.60% -107,934 -3,373 LEI $-0.230 -0.12% 267,190 35.22% 301,395 39.73% -34,205 -1,487 MNTR $-0.150 -0.13% 47,237 27.20% 125,288 72.14% -78,051 -5,203Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows SGY with a dollar loss Friday of $-3.49000 and a Friction Factor of -264 shares. That means that it only took 264 more shares of selling than buying to move SGY lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
