October 18, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5639 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4015 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1815 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. New Concept Energy, Inc. (NYSE:GBR), Capstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ:CPST), Pernix Therapeutics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:PTX), Banc of California Inc. (NYSE:BANC), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bear 3X ETF (NYSE:JDST), HTG Molecular Diagnostics (NASDAQ:HTGM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  GBR $-0.290 -0.12% 253,621 32.30% 321,834 40.99% -68,213 -2,352
  CPST $-0.220 -0.17% 616,691 29.79% 975,925 47.14% -359,234 -16,329
  PTX $-0.500 -0.12% 310,528 33.16% 417,948 44.64% -107,420 -2,148
  BANC $-4.760 -0.30% 5,402,802 31.77% 5,478,293 32.21% -75,491 -159
  JDST $-4.430 -0.14% 2,086,282 34.91% 2,321,838 38.85% -235,556 -532
  HTGM $-0.370 -0.12% 76,122 26.87% 143,276 50.57% -67,154 -1,815
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GBR with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.29000 and a Friction Factor of -2,352 shares. That means that it only took 2,352 more shares of selling than buying to move GBR lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
