October 17, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5705 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2283 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3610 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY), Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT), General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Great Basin Scientific Inc. (PINK:GBSN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SPY $-0.470 -0.00% 16,041,436 27.99% 19,710,161 34.39% -3,668,725 -78,058
  WMT $-0.230 -0.00% 1,267,380 16.98% 3,708,355 49.69% -2,440,975 -106,129
  GE $-0.030 -0.00% 7,886,329 19.87% 22,558,889 56.83% -14,672,560 -4,890,853
  HPQ $-0.450 -0.03% 5,915,094 27.05% 8,468,588 38.73% -2,553,494 -56,744
  F $-0.050 -0.00% 4,703,952 23.70% 11,260,195 56.73% -6,556,243 -1,311,249
  GBSN $-0.010 -0.22% 7,454,752 39.74% 11,301,459 60.25% -3,846,707 -3,846,707
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SPY down $-0.47000 with a Friction Factor of -78,058 and a Net Volume of -3,668,725. That means that it takes 78,058 more shares of selling than buying to drop SPY by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
