October 17, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5705 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2283 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3610 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), Merck & Co Inc. (NYSE:MRK), Johnson Controls International PLC (NYSE:JCI), JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PFE $-0.160 -0.01% 6,669,411 39.45% 4,220,134 24.96% 2,449,277 Abnormal
  V $-1.500 -0.02% 4,220,372 51.67% 1,400,879 17.15% 2,819,493 Abnormal
  MRK $-0.620 -0.01% 4,794,152 37.09% 3,032,892 23.47% 1,761,260 Abnormal
  JCI $-0.140 -0.00% 3,897,224 36.33% 1,950,967 18.19% 1,946,257 Abnormal
  JPM $-0.350 -0.01% 5,227,696 35.20% 3,626,882 24.42% 1,600,814 Abnormal
  MSFT $-0.070 -0.00% 9,003,442 38.00% 5,484,569 23.15% 3,518,873 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Monday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with 2,449,277 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.16000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
