October 4, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5536 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1915 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3993 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Renren Inc. (NYSE:RENN), Seadrill Limited (NYSE:SDRL), General Cannabis Corp (OTC:CANN), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bear 3X ETF (NYSE:JDST), PrShs UlSh GlMn Shs (NYSE:GDXS), (:SBSA(F,0)). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction RENN $0.450 0.22% 1,584,910 37.58% 1,454,723 34.50% 130,187 2,893 SDRL $0.500 0.23% 22,329,475 38.77% 22,210,316 38.56% 119,159 2,383 CANN $0.484 0.20% 1,036,866 45.61% 1,031,000 45.35% 5,866 121 JDST $8.220 0.33% 3,474,182 35.65% 3,179,976 32.63% 294,206 358 GDXS $3.220 0.20% 36,979 32.21% 29,628 25.81% 7,351 23 SBSA(F,0) $1.030 0.27% 70,056 47.61% 41,136 27.96% 28,920 281Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows RENN with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.45000 and a Friction Factor of 2,893 shares. That means that it only took 2,893 more shares of buying than selling to move RENN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
