October 4, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5536 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1915 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3993 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Costamare Inc. (NYSE:CMRE), Direxion Daily Gold Miners Bull 3X Shares (NYSE:NUGT), Vanguard Natural Resources LLC (NASDAQ:VNRAP), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:JNUG), Vanguard Natural Resources LLC (NASDAQ:VNRBP), Vanguard Natural Resources LLC (NASDAQ:VNRCP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CMRE $-1.730 -0.19% 694,009 32.74% 883,549 41.68% -189,540 -1,096
  NUGT $-5.220 -0.29% 25,496,076 35.40% 28,300,409 39.29% -2,804,333 -5,372
  VNRAP $-0.950 -0.35% 33,572 33.83% 48,303 48.68% -14,731 -155
  JNUG $-5.250 -0.32% 11,971,686 33.26% 13,988,459 38.86% -2,016,773 -3,841
  VNRBP $-1.180 -0.43% 121,775 34.63% 137,127 39.00% -15,352 -130
  VNRCP $-1.060 -0.39% 46,113 31.32% 61,120 41.51% -15,007 -142
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CMRE with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-1.73000 and a Friction Factor of -1,096 shares. That means that it only took 1,096 more shares of selling than buying to move CMRE lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
