September 27, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5712 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3199 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2685 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Novavax Inc. (NASDAQ:NVAX), Energy Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLE), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), United States Oil Fund, LP (NYSE:USO), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NVAX $-0.100 -0.04% 20,225,576 37.49% 23,707,793 43.94% -3,482,217 -348,222
  XLE $-0.440 -0.01% 4,705,082 25.19% 7,129,521 38.17% -2,424,439 -55,101
  F $-0.030 -0.00% 8,060,931 27.88% 11,210,898 38.77% -3,149,967 -1,049,989
  USO $-0.260 -0.03% 19,215,053 35.34% 24,616,760 45.27% -5,401,707 -207,758
  GDX $-0.480 -0.02% 12,275,393 21.91% 28,931,043 51.63% -16,655,650 -346,993
  GDXJ $-1.010 -0.02% 2,993,480 19.90% 7,069,983 46.99% -4,076,503 -40,361
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NVAX down $-0.10000 with a Friction Factor of -348,222 and a Net Volume of -3,482,217. That means that it takes 348,222 more shares of selling than buying to drop NVAX by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
