September 23, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5626 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2128 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3690 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), Digital Turbine Inc. (NASDAQ:APPS), SAExploration Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SAEX), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:JNUG), Rave Restaurant Group Inc. (NASDAQ:RAVE), Everbridge (NASDAQ:EVBG). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction OSK $-6.020 -0.11% 1,395,097 34.94% 1,443,435 36.15% -48,338 -80 APPS $-0.180 -0.15% 449,145 30.37% 565,151 38.21% -116,006 -6,445 SAEX $-1.110 -0.12% 1,262,776 33.03% 1,359,730 35.57% -96,954 -873 JNUG $-2.180 -0.10% 4,736,716 33.17% 5,607,822 39.27% -871,106 -3,996 RAVE $-0.750 -0.20% 167,639 30.65% 200,327 36.63% -32,688 -436 EVBG $-1.800 -0.11% 310,633 36.13% 401,417 46.69% -90,784 -504Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows OSK with a dollar loss Friday of $-6.02000 and a Friction Factor of -80 shares. That means that it only took 80 more shares of selling than buying to move OSK lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
