September 22, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5621 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4377 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1728 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Thursday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR), Yamana Gold Inc. (NYSE:AUY), Kinross Gold Corporation (NYSE:KGC), Teck Resources Limited (NYSE:TCK), ProShares Trust (NYSE:SPXU), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:JNUG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MAR $-0.640 -0.01% 3,184,071 18.22% 8,856,764 50.67% -5,672,693 -88,636
  AUY $-0.130 -0.03% 8,458,194 37.18% 9,651,524 42.42% -1,193,330 -91,795
  KGC $-0.060 -0.01% 5,771,378 34.15% 7,103,638 42.04% -1,332,260 -222,043
  TCK $-1.400 -0.08% 6,173,590 28.04% 8,041,402 36.52% -1,867,812 -13,342
  SPXU $-0.410 -0.02% 2,178,906 29.17% 3,403,894 45.57% -1,224,988 -29,878
  JNUG $-1.080 -0.05% 6,574,462 33.43% 7,587,855 38.59% -1,013,393 -9,383
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MAR down $-0.64000 with a Friction Factor of -88,636 and a Net Volume of -5,672,693. That means that it takes 88,636 more shares of selling than buying to drop MAR by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
