September 15, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5451 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4154 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1903 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Emerson Radio Corp (NYSE:MSN), CIBER Inc. (NYSE:CBR), Caladrius Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:CLBS), Venaxis Inc. (NASDAQ:APPY), Tokai Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:TKAI), Valmie Resources Inc. (PINK:VMRI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MSN $0.160 0.19% 155,863 46.72% 96,148 28.82% 59,715 3,732
  CBR $0.140 0.12% 1,261,635 34.44% 1,217,303 33.23% 44,332 3,167
  CLBS $0.670 0.15% 44,931 32.67% 37,309 27.13% 7,622 114
  APPY $0.460 0.12% 50,097 37.58% 45,554 34.17% 4,543 99
  TKAI $0.260 0.26% 3,351,596 38.24% 3,167,560 36.14% 184,036 7,078
  VMRI $0.110 0.12% 191,996 59.31% 130,971 40.46% 61,025 5,548
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MSN with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.16000 and a Friction Factor of 3,732 shares. That means that it only took 3,732 more shares of buying than selling to move MSN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
