September 13, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4951 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1127 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5429 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Applied Genetic Technologies (NASDAQ:AGTC), Approach Resources Inc. (NASDAQ:AREX), Halcon Resources Corp (NYSE:HK), Anavex Life Sciences Corp (NASDAQ:AVXL), Direxion Trust Shs Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:JNUG), Tantech Holdings (NASDAQ:TANH). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AGTC $-4.150 -0.32% 804,458 36.91% 812,182 37.26% -7,724 -19
  AREX $-0.520 -0.14% 829,763 36.46% 873,434 38.38% -43,671 -840
  HK $-1.680 -0.16% 254,702 24.81% 311,526 30.35% -56,824 -338
  AVXL $-0.430 -0.14% 527,050 30.15% 828,156 47.38% -301,106 -7,002
  JNUG $-2.900 -0.14% 6,747,993 36.28% 7,415,377 39.87% -667,384 -2,301
  TANH $-0.650 -0.22% 73,860 20.83% 147,880 41.70% -74,020 -1,139
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AGTC with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-4.15000 and a Friction Factor of -19 shares. That means that it only took 19 more shares of selling than buying to move AGTC lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
