May 8, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3804 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3315 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2086 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. DELTA AIR LINES INC (NYSE:DAL), Chesapeake Energy Corp (NYSE:CHK), Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc (NYSE:FCX), WELLS FARGO & COMPANY (NYSE:WFC), NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA), Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (OTC:FMCKJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DAL $0.580 3.21% 6,440,434 24.21% 8,990,765 33.79% -2,550,331 Abnormal
  CHK $0.010 0.05% 2,614,294 26.24% 4,232,958 42.49% -1,618,664 Abnormal
  FCX $0.830 2.63% 5,997,487 25.69% 7,779,047 33.32% -1,781,560 Abnormal
  WFC $0.120 0.30% 4,762,513 25.63% 6,500,229 34.98% -1,737,716 Abnormal
  NVDA $0.240 1.76% 3,451,172 41.35% 4,895,181 58.65% -1,444,009 Abnormal
  FMCKJ $0.070 1.49% 1,157,621 7.93% 2,992,718 20.50% -1,835,097 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DAL with 2,550,331 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.58000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
