May 6, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3810 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2953 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2357 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. BMC Software Inc (NASDAQ:BMC), Coventry Health Care Inc (NYSE:CVH), LSI Corp (NYSE:LSI), RXi Pharmaceuticals Corp (OTC:RXII), TRILLIANT EXPLORATION CORP (OTC:TTXP), Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BMC $-0.010 -0.02% 15,019,886 44.25% 18,902,566 55.69% -3,882,680 -3,882,680
  CVH $-0.220 -0.44% 676,738 16.73% 2,634,491 65.15% -1,957,753 -88,989
  LSI $-0.070 -1.04% 3,128,008 34.17% 6,027,442 65.83% -2,899,434 -414,205
  RXII $-0.010 -4.76% 300,569 5.12% 5,422,164 92.36% -5,121,595 -5,121,595
  TTXP $-0.010 -24.76% 159,000 5.43% 2,766,999 94.57% -2,607,999 -2,507,691
  FB $-0.740 -2.62% 20,935,204 47.87% 22,741,959 52.00% -1,806,755 -24,416
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BMC down $-0.01000 with a Friction Factor of -3,882,680 and a Net Volume of -3,882,680. That means that it takes 3,882,680 more shares of selling than buying to drop BMC by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
