April 26, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3831 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2102 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3066 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), Oracle Corp (NASDAQ:ORCL), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AAPL $5.730 1.40% 11,547,023 42.49% 14,388,698 52.95% -2,841,675 Abnormal
  CSCO $0.040 0.19% 15,988,921 47.56% 17,501,326 52.06% -1,512,405 Abnormal
  VZ $0.200 0.38% 3,503,756 24.47% 4,966,267 34.68% -1,462,511 Abnormal
  INTC $0.020 0.09% 15,425,471 44.62% 18,481,276 53.45% -3,055,805 Abnormal
  ORCL $0.140 0.42% 10,453,211 46.75% 11,854,448 53.02% -1,401,237 Abnormal
  CLWR $0.130 3.93% 15,656,916 47.78% 17,094,567 52.17% -1,437,651 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AAPL with 2,841,675 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $5.73000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
