April 25, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3963 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3342 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1941 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Dell Inc (NASDAQ:DELL), Boston Scientific Corp (NYSE:BSX), People's United Financial Inc (NASDAQ:PBCT), SPECTRA ENERGY CORP (NYSE:SE), Chimera Investment Corp (NYSE:CIM), RXi Pharmaceuticals Corp (OTC:RXII). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DELL $0.040 0.30% 6,956,910 39.38% 10,655,771 60.31% -3,698,861 Abnormal
  BSX $0.190 2.58% 12,544,956 28.19% 18,083,763 40.63% -5,538,807 Abnormal
  PBCT $0.040 0.31% 1,851,968 19.43% 7,665,860 80.43% -5,813,892 Abnormal
  SE $0.030 0.10% 970,481 9.53% 8,029,904 78.82% -7,059,423 Abnormal
  CIM $0.020 0.62% 1,418,173 13.24% 7,430,463 69.36% -6,012,290 Abnormal
  RXII $0.013 6.47% 738,357 18.08% 4,638,934 113.57% -3,900,577 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DELL with 3,698,861 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.04000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
