April 24, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3783 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3183 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2040 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Dell Inc (NASDAQ:DELL), Petroleo Brasileiro SA Petrobras (NYSE:PBR), Dow Chemical Co (NYSE:DOW), Lloyds Banking Group PLC (NYSE:LYG), Platinum Communications Corp (NYSE:PCS), COLUMBUS GOLD CORP (OTC:CBGDF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DELL $0.200 1.57% 22,990,869 46.39% 26,156,531 52.78% -3,165,662 Abnormal
  PBR $0.450 2.57% 6,966,390 27.65% 8,603,508 34.14% -1,637,118 Abnormal
  DOW $0.500 1.58% 3,010,786 25.06% 5,444,485 45.32% -2,433,699 Abnormal
  LYG $0.070 2.25% 687,587 9.17% 2,814,404 37.54% -2,126,817 Abnormal
  PCS $0.080 0.69% 5,826,555 28.80% 7,892,640 39.01% -2,066,085 Abnormal
  CBGDF $0.010 4.32% 44,300 1.64% 2,650,000 98.36% -2,605,700 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DELL with 3,165,662 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.20000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
