April 8, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3923 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3137 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2244 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Saba Software Inc (NASDAQ:SABA), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT), Affymax Inc (NASDAQ:AFFY), Medical Marijuana Inc (OTC:MJNA), (:CEDC(H)). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SABA $-0.730 -9.93% 1,777,408 34.41% 3,238,175 62.70% -1,460,767 -20,011
  T $-0.400 -1.05% 7,294,867 30.90% 8,567,154 36.29% -1,272,287 -31,807
  MSFT $-0.080 -0.28% 16,673,771 48.08% 17,833,085 51.42% -1,159,314 -144,914
  AFFY $-0.090 -7.76% 1,476,559 35.29% 2,707,808 64.71% -1,231,249 -136,805
  MJNA $-0.013 -5.07% 1,765,156 30.11% 4,096,319 69.89% -2,331,163 -1,739,674
  CEDC(H) $-0.130 -40.66% 2,968,753 38.96% 4,650,722 61.04% -1,681,969 -129,382
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SABA down $-0.73000 with a Friction Factor of -20,011 and a Net Volume of -1,460,767. That means that it takes 20,011 more shares of selling than buying to drop SABA by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
