Market Maker Surveillance Report. NDAQ, SGRP, UNXL, ANV, IGOI, EORBF, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, Ap
April 2, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4007 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2501 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2969 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. NASDAQ OMX GROUP, INC. (THE) (NASDAQ:NDAQ), SPAR Group Inc (NASDAQ:SGRP), Uni-Pixel Inc (NASDAQ:UNXL), Allied Nevada Gold Corp (AMEX:ANV), IGO Inc (NASDAQ:IGOI), (OTC:EORBF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction NDAQ $-4.100 -12.80% 5,418,129 47.35% 5,906,389 51.62% -488,260 -1,191 SGRP $-0.300 -15.00% 30,938 41.87% 42,454 57.45% -11,516 -384 UNXL $-3.230 -12.91% 934,301 45.51% 1,097,647 53.47% -163,346 -506 ANV $-1.780 -10.94% 755,354 26.82% 840,935 29.86% -85,581 -481 IGOI $-1.380 -35.57% 249,011 47.76% 254,584 48.82% -5,573 -40 EORBF $-0.264 -19.24% 106,367 28.15% 174,850 46.27% -68,483 -2,590Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows NDAQ with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-4.10000 and a Friction Factor of -1,191 shares. That means that it only took 1,191 more shares of selling than buying to move NDAQ lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
