April 2, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4007 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2501 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2969 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. NEWCASTLE INVESTMENT CORP. (NYSE:NCT), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), Hawaiian Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:HA), WELLS FARGO & COMPANY (NYSE:WFC), Vale SA (NYSE:VALE), Bard Ventures Ltd (NYSE:CBS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NCT $-0.090 -0.82% 2,216,488 45.25% 1,218,101 24.87% 998,387 Abnormal
  SIRI $-0.010 -0.32% 16,500,617 52.00% 15,233,010 48.00% 1,267,607 Abnormal
  HA $-0.150 -2.68% 2,528,854 65.76% 1,316,828 34.24% 1,212,026 Abnormal
  WFC $-0.040 -0.11% 5,702,407 35.81% 4,279,049 26.87% 1,423,358 Abnormal
  VALE $-0.410 -2.43% 11,478,644 42.74% 5,588,001 20.81% 5,890,643 Abnormal
  CBS $-0.230 -0.49% 3,279,713 46.09% 1,789,294 25.14% 1,490,419 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NCT with 998,387 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.09000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
