Market Maker Surveillance Report. GV, GAI, HDSN, GMXR, SXE, LWLG, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Thursday, March
March 28, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3917 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3145 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2279 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Goldfield Corp (AMEX:GV), Global-Tech Advanced Innovations Inc (NASDAQ:GAI), Hudson Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:HDSN), GMX Resources Inc (NYSE:GMXR), STANLEY INC (NYSE:SXE), Lightwave Logic Inc (OTC:LWLG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction GV $-0.760 -17.08% 1,296,357 31.58% 1,674,138 40.78% -377,781 -4,971 GAI $-2.290 -20.89% 32,726 31.84% 67,962 66.12% -35,236 -154 HDSN $-0.960 -19.35% 1,185,482 48.05% 1,243,009 50.38% -57,527 -599 GMXR $-0.250 -10.20% 170,875 28.46% 230,346 38.37% -59,471 -2,379 SXE $-5.500 -21.36% 359,406 29.11% 405,305 32.83% -45,899 -83 LWLG $-0.180 -11.04% 63,255 25.93% 116,152 47.62% -52,897 -2,939Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows GV with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.76000 and a Friction Factor of -4,971 shares. That means that it only took 4,971 more shares of selling than buying to move GV lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
