Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction NLY $0.260 1.68% 7,969,618 46.61% 4,785,184 27.98% 3,184,434 122,478 SIRI $0.010 0.32% 14,611,023 57.56% 10,766,865 42.42% 3,844,158 3,844,158 HPQ $0.720 3.24% 10,961,378 39.33% 7,889,443 28.31% 3,071,935 42,666 GRPN $0.340 6.27% 9,912,762 58.63% 6,987,408 41.33% 2,925,354 86,040 SKTO $0.024 107.73% 45,531,891 59.70% 30,738,101 40.30% 14,793,790 6,242,105 QQQ $0.640 0.94% 15,400,782 55.44% 11,368,178 40.93% 4,032,604 63,009Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows NLY with a Net Buy Volume of 3,184,434 shares and a Friction Factor of 122,478 shares. That means that it takes 122,478 more shares of buying than selling to move NLY higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
