March 20, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4008 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3420 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1933 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (OTC:FMCC), SCHRODER JAPAN GROWTH FUND (OTC:SJGFF), Obagi Medical Products Inc (NASDAQ:OMPI), Affymax Inc (NASDAQ:AFFY), Charter Communications Inc (OTC:CCHJW), Federal National Mortgage Association (OTC:FNMA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  FMCC $0.380 54.33% 26,073,713 57.37% 19,279,393 42.42% 6,794,320 178,704
  SJGFF $0.355 25.84% 500,000 66.03% 257,176 33.97% 242,824 6,840
  OMPI $4.300 27.97% 8,798,281 52.99% 7,855,079 47.31% 943,202 2,193
  AFFY $0.220 20.95% 12,420,661 52.81% 11,098,115 47.19% 1,322,546 60,116
  CCHJW $13.250 31.74% 113,260 71.44% 42,274 26.67% 70,986 54
  FNMA $0.372 51.81% 57,625,135 52.74% 51,110,321 46.78% 6,514,814 175,129
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FMCC with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.38020 and a Friction Factor of 178,704 shares. That means that it only took 178,704 more shares of buying than selling to move FMCC higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
