March 18, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4199 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2128 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3118 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), WELLS FARGO & COMPANY (NYSE:WFC), Corning Inc (NYSE:GLW), METHYLGENE INC (OTC:MYLGF), Federal National Mortgage Association Fannie Mae (OTC:FNMAS), Powershares Qqq Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  GE $-0.160 -0.68% 12,511,283 37.37% 8,831,901 26.38% 3,679,382 Abnormal
  WFC $-0.420 -1.10% 10,873,341 36.87% 7,794,995 26.43% 3,078,346 Abnormal
  GLW $-0.080 -0.62% 6,774,089 39.28% 5,044,756 29.25% 1,729,333 Abnormal
  MYLGF $-0.047 -24.47% 5,068,500 69.26% 2,250,000 30.74% 2,818,500 Abnormal
  FNMAS $-0.040 -1.35% 2,900,429 77.62% 719,580 19.26% 2,180,849 Abnormal
  QQQ $-0.120 -0.18% 17,554,013 49.11% 15,624,680 43.71% 1,929,333 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Monday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GE with 3,679,382 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.16000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
