March 11, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4048 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2845 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2463 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. EQT Corp (NYSE:EQT), America Movil SAB de CV (NYSE:AMX), General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), Tyson Foods Inc (NYSE:TSN), Corning Inc (NYSE:GLW), TITAN ENERGY WORLDWIDE INC (OTC:TEWI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EQT $-0.120 -0.18% 461,808 14.69% 1,902,177 60.52% -1,440,369 -120,031
  AMX $-0.410 -1.89% 3,262,739 21.03% 4,646,989 29.95% -1,384,250 -33,762
  GE $-0.120 -0.50% 9,943,768 28.56% 12,986,099 37.30% -3,042,331 -253,528
  TSN $-0.030 -0.14% 932,863 23.17% 2,011,348 49.95% -1,078,485 -359,495

  TEWI $-0.017 -41.46% 2,688,459 40.42% 3,963,514 59.58% -1,275,055 -750,032
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EQT down $-0.12000 with a Friction Factor of -120,031 and a Net Volume of -1,440,369. That means that it takes 120,031 more shares of selling than buying to drop EQT by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
