March 8, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3972 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3328 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2140 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BroadVision Inc (NASDAQ:BVSN), ARCA Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:ABIO), Agria Corp (NYSE:GRO), Midway Gold Corp (AMEX:MDW), PANDORA MEDIA INC (NYSE:P), African Queen Mines Ltd (NYSE:AQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BVSN $2.130 24.83% 609,960 52.97% 531,102 46.12% 78,858 370
  ABIO $0.410 18.72% 146,094 64.48% 79,973 35.30% 66,121 1,613
  GRO $0.220 23.85% 191,637 27.68% 110,039 15.90% 81,598 3,709
  MDW $0.200 18.52% 181,799 39.48% 134,262 29.16% 47,537 2,377
  P $2.070 17.65% 12,222,005 32.35% 11,126,216 29.45% 1,095,789 5,294
  AQ $2.400 39.09% 215,575 39.61% 166,947 30.68% 48,628 203
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BVSN with a dollar gain Friday of $2.13000 and a Friction Factor of 370 shares. That means that it only took 370 more shares of buying than selling to move BVSN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
