March 7, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4068 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3070 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2288 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C), J C Penney Company Inc (NYSE:JCP), Alcatel Lucent SA (NYSE:ALU), TITAN ENERGY WORLDWIDE INC (OTC:TEWI), Baristas Coffee Co Inc (OTC:BCCI), Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  C $0.230 0.51% 14,633,723 38.50% 9,324,420 24.53% 5,309,303 230,839
  JCP $0.390 2.70% 8,003,015 43.18% 4,735,217 25.55% 3,267,798 83,790
  ALU $0.080 5.63% 7,815,736 40.24% 3,799,643 19.56% 4,016,093 502,012
  TEWI $0.042 467.78% 20,501,843 54.24% 17,295,631 45.75% 3,206,212 761,571
  BCCI $0.031 97.46% 17,554,031 56.12% 13,720,748 43.86% 3,833,283 1,248,626
  FB $1.070 3.89% 38,805,083 52.26% 35,113,924 47.29% 3,691,159 34,497
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows C with a Net Buy Volume of 5,309,303 shares and a Friction Factor of 230,839 shares. That means that it takes 230,839 more shares of buying than selling to move C higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
