February 20, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3592 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1590 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4421 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), Wendy's Company (NASDAQ:WEN), J C Penney Company Inc (NYSE:JCP), WELLS FARGO & COMPANY (NYSE:WFC), Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ), Chelsea Therapeutics International Ltd (NASDAQ:CHTP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  KO $0.050 0.13% 4,423,718 34.87% 3,418,990 26.95% 1,004,728 200,946
  WEN $0.190 3.52% 7,012,813 55.81% 5,550,744 44.18% 1,462,069 76,951
  JCP $0.560 2.86% 5,361,540 36.34% 4,433,538 30.05% 928,002 16,571
  WFC $0.010 0.04% 10,460,842 39.10% 8,307,455 31.05% 2,153,387 2,153,387
  VZ $0.410 0.92% 5,817,658 25.08% 4,722,513 20.36% 1,095,145 26,711
  CHTP $1.150 150.82% 16,357,978 52.84% 14,596,240 47.15% 1,761,738 15,319
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KO with a Net Buy Volume of 1,004,728 shares and a Friction Factor of 200,946 shares. That means that it takes 200,946 more shares of buying than selling to move KO higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
