February 20, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3592 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1590 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4421 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Dell Inc (NASDAQ:DELL), Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT), Robbins & Myers Inc (NYSE:RBN), BANK RAKYAT INDONESIA PERSER (OTC:BKRKF), Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (OTC:FMCKI), NetSpend Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:NTSP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DELL $0.020 0.18% 13,296,607 48.32% 14,218,547 51.68% -921,940 Abnormal
  WMT $0.430 0.63% 3,284,501 27.67% 4,153,054 34.99% -868,553 Abnormal
  RBN $0.010 0.02% 116,321 7.98% 1,136,600 77.94% -1,020,279 Abnormal
  BKRKF $0.040 4.55% 138,985 2.27% 3,067,510 50.18% -2,928,525 Abnormal
  FMCKI $0.050 3.12% 232,307 2.18% 6,150,357 57.74% -5,918,050 Abnormal
  NTSP $3.570 29.05% 20,058,061 48.27% 21,996,780 52.93% -1,938,719 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DELL with 921,940 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
