February 13, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3926 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2845 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2433 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Wednesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK), Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:PPHM), Yahoo! Inc (NASDAQ:YHOO), Advaxis Inc (OTC:ADXS), Warnaco Group Inc (NYSE:WRC), (NASDAQ:BBRY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NOK $-0.130 -3.16% 11,120,671 29.87% 13,780,979 37.01% -2,660,308 -204,639
  PPHM $-0.430 -20.38% 13,493,386 43.60% 17,445,799 56.37% -3,952,413 -91,917
  YHOO $-0.010 -0.02% 7,515,912 40.00% 11,272,931 59.99% -3,757,019 -3,757,019
  ADXS $-0.016 -14.81% 3,116,209 35.62% 5,632,110 64.38% -2,515,901 -1,572,438

  BBRY $-1.230 -8.09% 36,966,128 47.79% 39,812,122 51.47% -2,845,994 -23,138
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NOK down $-0.13000 with a Friction Factor of -204,639 and a Net Volume of -2,660,308. That means that it takes 204,639 more shares of selling than buying to drop NOK by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
