February 1, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3953 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3792 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1779 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. pSivida Corp (NASDAQ:PSDV), Build A Bear Workshop Inc (NYSE:BBW), Concurrent Computer Corp (NASDAQ:CCUR), Cache Inc (NASDAQ:CACH), Southern USA Resources Inc (OTC:SUSA), Inuvo Inc (AMEX:INUV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PSDV $0.370 27.01% 160,790 55.97% 126,294 43.96% 34,496 932
  BBW $0.950 23.17% 198,796 40.92% 178,066 36.65% 20,730 218
  CCUR $1.220 18.65% 583,686 54.14% 485,564 45.04% 98,122 804
  CACH $0.440 18.03% 54,511 60.01% 27,618 30.41% 26,893 611
  SUSA $0.270 27.00% 78,422 56.87% 42,960 31.15% 35,462 1,313
  INUV $0.270 32.53% 199,346 34.92% 146,902 25.73% 52,444 1,942
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PSDV with a dollar gain Friday of $0.37000 and a Friction Factor of 932 shares. That means that it only took 932 more shares of buying than selling to move PSDV higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
