On Wednesday there were 4107 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2545 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2780 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), SYMANTEC CORPORATION (NASDAQ:SYMC), SUPERVALU Inc (NYSE:SVU), Yahoo! Inc (NASDAQ:YHOO), Powershares Qqq Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ:QQQ), Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction BAC $0.070 0.01% 43,564,252 36.66% 38,411,551 32.33% 5,152,701 736,100 SYMC $0.800 0.04% 10,361,979 52.80% 8,814,198 44.91% 1,547,781 19,347 SVU $0.020 0.01% 6,460,662 53.59% 2,585,118 21.44% 3,875,544 1,937,772 YHOO $0.230 0.01% 7,742,697 56.58% 5,927,258 43.31% 1,815,439 78,932 QQQ $0.460 0.01% 14,347,263 51.90% 13,039,642 47.17% 1,307,621 28,427 FB $0.200 0.01% 25,125,068 52.10% 22,916,333 47.52% 2,208,735 110,437Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows BAC with a Net Buy Volume of 5,152,701 shares and a Friction Factor of 736,100 shares. That means that it takes 736,100 more shares of buying than selling to move BAC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
