January 22, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4015 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3403 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2245 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. China Auto Logistics Inc (NASDAQ:CALI), Arena Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:ARNA), Antioquia Gold Inc (NYSE:AGD), NewLead Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:NEWL), TAG OIL LTD (OTC:TAOIF), Lentuo International Inc (NYSE:LAS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CALI $-0.320 -0.09% 61,180 45.60% 72,984 54.40% -11,804 -369
  ARNA $-0.990 -0.10% 13,056,446 48.76% 13,599,644 50.79% -543,198 -5,487
  AGD $-0.770 -0.14% 919,814 32.19% 991,492 34.70% -71,678 -931
  NEWL $-0.140 -0.09% 317,116 41.20% 450,059 58.47% -132,943 -9,496
  TAOIF $-0.444 -0.10% 27,000 26.31% 37,925 36.95% -10,925 -246
  LAS $-0.140 -0.09% 27,555 26.31% 40,486 38.66% -12,931 -924
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CALI with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.32000 and a Friction Factor of -369 shares. That means that it only took 369 more shares of selling than buying to move CALI lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
